The beginners this week perfected their tacking skills in the figure eight course. With an extremely hot and foggy Wednesday, our sailors began the day with a chalk talk focused on telltales and gybing and then proceeded to gather on the pontoon to end the day swimming. On Friday our sailors started gybing in the hotdog course. We look forward to helping our beginners further develop their gybes in the week to come.
This week our Intermediate class finished their tacking practice on the figure eight course this week Monday. Wednesday, our sailors got a special treat, due to the hot weather and dense fog, the kids got to go swimming after a chalk talk about hiking, telltales, and sail trim. Luckily, Friday was a perfect day to sail. The Intermediates practiced gybing and did an excellent job for their first day trying this new skill. The instructors look forward to see how they prefect this skill next week.
With this being the week before K-cup our racers were in overdrive practicing for next week's regatta. The 420 sailors focused on spinnakers and trapping skills, the lasers worked on depowering in heavy winds and the racing optis worked on down wind runs. With this week being the forth of July, the racing class only had limited time to practice. But our racers will be more ready than ever in our very own Kaszube Cup!
Note from the Junior Advisor:
